A few of my better shots from various galleries with my Nikon D40. The sunset and discus pics are cropped a little - otherwise, these are straight out the camera, not edited in any way.

I know it is a little backlit. On some monitors, it looks pretty cool anyway...

From the beach at Grand Wailea. We did some snorkeling off that point, and came pretty close to some really big sea turtles.
There was a little bit of mist coming down and blowing toward the beach, at almost the same angle as the rays of light.

These were some surfers we saw while at a beach park on Kuai. Had the 70-300 lens on all the way out, and I could hardly make them out in the viewfinder.

Right now I'm just using the flash that's on top of the camera - I've asked for the 400 for my birthday, so we'll see. If I could bounce off the ceiling, that would probably eliminate the red-eye, but I liked the timing of this moment.

Downtown Miami from out hotel at the Orange Bowl. I just sort of focused on the horizon and let it fly, full-auto. I like this camera.

He told me he fell because his knees were numb.
